Calling all reviewers!

While our editors are hard at work pulling together our Folk Horror installment after yesterday's submission deadline, our tech gnomes have been hard at work on the software backend powering Weird Fiction Quarterly, and we're getting ready to release a self-service Reviewer Portal for book reviewers. This portal will allow reviewers to see what Weird Fiction Quarterly has published and download personalized electronic copies (PDF and ePub) of our works for reviewing purposes.

If you are a reviewer and would like to be enrolled, please send an e-mail to reviews@weirdfictionquarterly.com with the following details:

• Your name
• Your e-mail address
• Where your reviews are published (publication name and URL if applicable)
• Links to any past reviews you've done of past Weird Fiction Quarterly installments

Once I have that information, I'll get you enrolled with the portal and you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access the portal. From the portal, you'll be able to access what we have published now, and when we release our Folk Horror issue soon, you will also receive an e-mail letting you know when that's available for review.

And for the reviewers who prefer physical review copies over electronic versions, we are instituting a new policy on that matter: you will be able to request one initial physical review copy of an installment, but you will not receive any subsequent physical copies unless you submit a review of the copy that you already received first. (The reviewer portal includes a form for you to send those to us.)

The reason for this policy is that we've been generous in the past with physical review copies, but didn't see actual reviews from some of those reviewers who received physical copies. And given that (unlike the electronic copies) printing and shipping physical copies comes out of our small operational budget, we simply can't afford to send physical copies to folks who don't reciprocate with reviews. Now, if you publish a review for each physical copy we send, we'll be happy to keep sending you those copies for as long as you want to keep reviewing us!
